Stops are narrow strips of wood that are nailed to the head and side jambs of door and windows to constrict the movement of door and windows. This prevents the doors or windows from swinging through the opening. Stops also have a broad spectrum of potential uses for walls, furniture and crafts that make this a favorite amongst hobbyists.
